Kwetu´s multiflora and mangrove honey is now certified by Kenya Bureau Standards and also has new labels. Thanks to a Small Grant by Embassy of Slovak Republic in Nairobi, we have finalized our honey processing unit, which we started to work on in April 2014. The grant enabled Kwetu to lay down infrastructure needed for prudent hygienic conditions during honey processing to ensure its highest standards. We have also obtained centrifuge to make our honey production cleaner and faster and Kwetu is not selfish with its new assets.
In the past 3 years we have been working with over 100 bee keepers from various Community Based Organizations in Kilifi county on development of their bee keeping skills. These days they are producing their first liters of honey and Kwetu serves as a honey collection Centre for all of them. We do check the quality of their production, buy and package and sell their honey. In this way we support these bee keepers and help them to generate regular income, which comes in with each harvest. All this is also possible thanks to you, our faithful customers.
Below, you can also see our new labels, which you will also see on your favorite honey soon.
